“Writing for Wellbeing”
Objectives:
- Develop skills in journaling.
- Learn to use a journal as a tool for self-reflection, gratitude, and overall wellbeing, focusing on the foundational attitudes of mindfulness.
Target Audience:
Open to all, with a special emphasis on mental health. All participants will be asked to fill in a registration form on their first session and an attendance register each time they attend. Participants will be asked to provide up to date contact details so that they can be informed of any unforeseen changes to workshop dates and times.
Workshop Structure:
The workshop will have a holistic approach, combining:
- Mindfulness Exercises: Cultivating awareness and presence.
- Meditation: Providing a space for introspection.
- Writing Exercises: Enhancing self-expression through journaling.
Themes:
Session 1 (13th April): Intention setting and beginners mind
Session 2 (8th June): Non-judgement and gratitude
Session 3 (10th August): Acceptance and non-striving
Session 4 (12th October): Letting go and generosity
Session 5 (14th December): Patience and trust
Each session will explore how we can bring these attitudes to our writing and use writing to develop these attitudes. Dates and times may be subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control. Activities and Exercises
Participants will engage in a variety of activities, including guided mindfulness exercises, meditation sessions, and purposeful writing exercises. These will be designed to foster self-awareness, relaxation, and creativity.
Materials Needed
Participants are encouraged to bring their journals. Additional materials, such as pens, writing prompts, and meditation aids, will be provided.
Facilitator Information
The workshops will be primarily facilitated by Davy and Rachel, experienced professionals in mindfulness, therapy, and writing. Their combined expertise will create a supportive and enriching environment for participants. Venue
The workshops will take place at the Mindful Therapies Centre, 1st floor, 15 Carliol Square, NE1 6UF. The venue offers a tranquil and conducive space for self-discovery and reflection.

These sessions operate on a donation basis, with a suggested donation of £10.
