Mindful mileMindful Mile Information

Come and join us on Midsummer’s Night to celebrate the longest day and the easing of lockdown. We will be celebrating with a sponsored event to raise funds for the Counselling Service bursary fund – supporting people to access counselling who might not be able to afford the full cost. This event is an opportunity to get together with friends, new and old, in three dimensions to have some fun, walk mindfully and raise some money. There is also a prize for the participant who raises the most sponsorship!

 When Is It?

Monday 21st June. We will be meeting from 5pm to meditate together at 5:30pm. The walk itself begins at 6:15pm. We expect that the mindful walk will take around an hour, with plenty of opportunity to stop, meditate together, and take in our surroundings. You will then be invited to join us for something to eat at the Tower Cafe. The Tower Cafe are kindly donating a prize draw for paticipants to win a free pizza.

Where Is It?

Leazes Park, Newcastle City Centre. We will be meeting by the bandstand and the walk will take us around the pond, finishing back at the bandstand.

What do I need to bring?

This will be a slow walk so you may need to bring warm clothes – this is Newcastle after all! You may also wish to bring a bottle of water.

Who can take part?

The route is wheelchair accessible. Dogs on leads are welcome. And children are welcome (no lead necessary) if accompanied by an adult.

Where does my sponsor money go?

In April 2021 we launched a bursary/discount scheme to enable people who cannot afford our low-cost counselling service to access the service free of charge. Money raised will support the bursary/discount scheme and all of our community work.

Please complete and return registration form either by email to info@mindfultherapies.org.uk or print and return to Mindful Therapies Centre, 15 Carliol Square, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6UF. Blank copies are available at the Centre.
