Meet the Team

Mindful Therapies is made up of a dedicated team of staff and volunteers and the organisation is governed by a board of directors.

Staff

Rachel Jones Wild
Rachel Jones WildChief Executive
I set up Mindful Therapies in 2013 and my role includes class delivery, teacher training and the development of courses. I am a Breathworks mindfulness trainer, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor.
Mindfulness has taught me how to find things to be grateful for, whatever the circumstances.
Mark Sidney
Mark Sidney Director of Operations
I joined Mindful Therapies in 2014, originally to support the development of Mindful Therapies as a business. I am a leadership and performance coach, mindfulness teacher (Mindfulness Association) and a yoga teacher. Mindfulness has taught me how to manage the symptoms of chronic illness.
Victoria Backhouse
Victoria BackhouseCounselling Service and Volunteer Co-ordinator
I joined Mindful Therapies in 2016 as a student counsellor on placement. I am usually the first point of contact when someone reaches out for counselling. I also run the Mindful Garden in Leazes Park and support our volunteer team. I particularly enjoy mindfulness as part of my morning yoga practice.

Counselling Team

The Mindful Therapies Counselling Service is delivered by students on placement and recently qualified counsellors. Counsellors are provided with training in the therapeutic use of mindfulness in the counselling room and are provided with regular supervision.

Volunteers

We rely on volunteers to help with the smooth running of our organisation.

Some volunteers have been with us for a number of years and have taken on various roles throughout that time.

Others have ‘mucked in’ for an hour here and there when we needed some extra support.

Sarah StevensonAdmin and Social Media
Since 2021 I have volunteered in the office and also help with social media. I particularly enjoy breathing meditations as they help me to feel calmer in stressful situations.
Debbie LindsayClass Supporter
I have volunteered with Mindful Therapies since 2016 and my current role includes welcoming people who attend the Mindful Space class. I particularly enjoy practising mindfulness in nature.
