Mental health issues can affect anyone and through our work in the community over the past 10 years, Mindful Therapies is acutely aware of the need to be able to engage in easy to access and affordable mental health support services.

With private counselling sessions ranging from anywhere from £40 – £60 per hour and access to NHS counselling services sometimes taking an 18 month wait for a first appointment, we are proud to be able to offer our high quality counselling service on a donation basis.

What does donation basis mean?

Put simply, you can choose how much you can afford to pay for your counselling. We will suggest a donation amount to you based on your household composition and income (typically £10-£35), but you don’t have to follow our suggestion if you don’t think it takes full account of your circumstances.

We trust you to pay what you can so that everyone can get the support that they need.

As a not for profit organisation, every penny we receive in donations from our counselling sessions goes back into the service and ensures we can continue to provide counselling in this way.

How do I arrange counselling?

Please fill in this form to request counselling from our service. If we don’t think we’re able to meet your specific need then we will sign post to alternative service providers.

Face to face sessions are held in the Mindful Therapies Centre which is in Newcastle City Centre, very close to public transport links.

You can arrange to have your sessions online or telephone if you prefer.

What kind of things can we help with?

Mindful Therapies counsellors can support a range of difficulties, including but not limited to – eating distress, anxiety, addiction, depression and workplace issues.

If you would to speak to us about whether we’d be a good fit, you can request an assessment call when you fill in the form above.

Is there an age limit?

Yes, you must be 18 or over to use this service.

How many sessions of counselling can I have?

We don’t artificially limit the number of sessions a client may have, but carry out reviews every six weeks with all clients to ensure counselling remains therapeutically beneficial and is not extended beyond what is needed.

How long are the waiting lists?

On average, 6 weeks- 10 weeks after your initial assessment you will be allocated a counsellor, depending on your individual needs and the availability of a suitable counsellor.

Who sees the information I put on my application form?
